04Is the app free to use?
Yes, museumsufer.app is completely free, with no registration and no app store required. The site works as a Progressive Web App directly in the browser.
05Which languages does the site support?
The app is available in German, English and French. Event titles and descriptions are translated automatically.
06Why this app?
Hamburg has many museums — and they deserve a better overview than the one they have. This app pulls exhibitions and events into one fast, searchable page. No app store, no account, no fuss.
07How does the app handle my data?
When you enable distance sorting, your location is rounded to a grid (~200 m) and sent to the RMV API to estimate travel times — your exact position is never stored or shared. No personal data is collected.
08How do push notifications work?
Subscribe via the "Push Digest" button or the footer link. Three time slots are available: morning (07:00), afternoon (17:00) and a weekly Sunday overview (09:00). Notifications can optionally be restricted to specific museums. Sign-up is anonymous — no account, no email — and can be cancelled at any time. On iOS, the site must first be added to the home screen as a web app.
