Permanent Exhibition

Das Museum Sammlung Prinzhorn zeigt neben den Sonderausstellungen auch eine Dauerausstellung. Unter dem Titel Die Sammlung Prinzhorn – von „Irrenkunst" zur Outsider Art wird mit rund 120 Werken aus psychiatrischem Kontext von Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts bis heute ein kleiner Einblick in die 40.000 Werke starke Sammlung gegeben.

Anniversary Exhibition

Wahnsinn! 2026 feiert das Museum Sammlung Prinzhorn des Universitätsklinikums Heidelberg sein 25- jähriges Bestehen. Die Jubiläumsausstellung „Alles Kunst?“ rückt eine Frage in den Fokus, die das Haus seit seiner Gründung begleitet: Wie lassen sich bildkünstlerische Werke aus psychiatrischem Kontext ausstellen, von denen viele ursprünglich nie für die Öffentlichkeit bestimmt waren oder nicht als Kunst erschaffen wurden?

Film and Discussion on Open Studios: The Studio as an Organism – Geyso20

Open studios are art workshops for people who require assistance—such as those with a history of mental health challenges, cognitive impairments, or neurodiversity. Their artistic potential remains largely unknown. The film “The Studio as an Organism – Geyso20” offers a glimpse into the Geyso20 studio in Braunschweig and was created for the exhibition “The Studio as a Community #Geyso20” (Sprengel Museum Hannover, 2025).

To mark Mental Health Week (www.klinikum.uni-heidelberg.de/ppf), the museum is offering a behind-the-scenes look at its work—with guided tours of the storage facility, the Graphic Arts Collection, and the restoration workshop, as well as accompanying informational talks.

Concert Matinee: Björn Meyer, solo

Sold out! Remaining tickets may be available on-site on the day of the event. Bassist Björn Meyer is among the musicians who are redefining their instrument. At the museum, as part of the Enjoy Jazz Festival, he will present his latest solo album on ECM. Afterward, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in short guided tours of the exhibition “Is It All Art?”
